Hassan Fathi wurde am 0. September 1959 in Teheran geboren. Er ist Regisseur und Drehbuchautor. Nach seinem Bachelor-Abschluss in Psychologie an der Shahid-Beheshti-Universität in Teheran und seinem Master-Abschluss in Theaterregie an der Islamischen Azad-Universität ist er Universitätsprofessor und Bildungsdirektor des Karnameh-Instituts für Kultur und Kunst. Bereits während seines Studiums sammelte er Theatererfahrung. 1989 begann er, Theater- und Filmkritiken für die Zeitschriften „Soroush“, „Tamashakhaneh“, „Donyayeh Tasvir“ und „Drama“ zu schreiben. Er war einige Zeit als Regisseur und Autor von Theaterstücken tätig, bevor er 1993 mit der Regie der Fernsehserie „Nachbarn“ seine erste Fernseherfahrung sammelte. Charakteristisch für seine Werke sind prägnante Dialoge mit passendem Rhythmus und eindrucksvoller Musik.
